Description

Designing meaningful assignments, providing timely feedback, and helping students use AI responsibly are challenges shared by faculty across disciplines. In this session, three UC Davis professors will share how they use Kritik to support individual and group assignments, engage students in evaluating one another’s work, and gain greater insight into students’ learning processes.

Drawing on examples from their own classrooms, they will discuss practical ways to improve student engagement, develop critical thinking skills, promote AI literacy, and reduce instructor workload.

During the session, we’ll cover:

  • How peer review can improve student learning while reducing grading and feedback time.
  • Examples of assignments and rubrics used in UC Davis courses.
  • Practical considerations for introducing and managing peer assessment.
  • How to establish AI-use policies and better understand students’ writing processes.

Faculty from all disciplines are welcome. The session will include time for questions and discussion about applying these approaches in different courses.
