How can instructors support deeper learning while managing grading demands?
Join us for an interactive session at Dalhousie University, exploring how peer assessment can create more student-centred classrooms while improving feedback quality and making grading more efficient.
Date: March 25th, 12:00 – 1:00 PM AT
Location: Dalplex 204, 6260 South St, Halifax
Faculty members Dan Shaw from the Rowe School of Business and Michel Ladouceur from the School of Health and Human Performance will share how they use peer assessment to shift students from passive recipients of grades to active participants in learning. By evaluating each other’s work using clear criteria, students develop stronger critical thinking skills, produce higher-quality submissions, and engage more meaningfully with course material.
In this session, you will learn how to:
- Improve the quality and usefulness of feedback students receive
- Foster student-centred learning and deeper engagement
- Reduce grading workload through structured peer evaluation
- Implement peer assessment effectively in your own courses
