Kritik strives to meet the needs of its employees and customers with disabilities and is working hard to remove and prevent barriers to accessibility. We are committed to fulfilling our requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). This multi-year plan outlines the steps Kritik is taking to remove barriers for people with disabilities and help make Ontario an accessible province for all Ontarians.

Past Achievements and Ongoing Initiatives to Remove and Prevent Barriers

Accessible Emergency Information

Kritik is committed to providing customized and accessible emergency information to employees, customers, and clients with a disability during an emergency upon request.

Recruitment & Employment

Kritik is committed to fair and accessible employment practices. Kritik publically notifies potential hires that accommodations are available upon request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.

We notify all employees that support is available for those with disabilities and have put in place a process to develop individual accommodation plans and return-to-work plans for employees. Our performance management, career development and redeployment processes take into account the accessibility needs of all employees.

Training & Customer Service

Kritik is committed to providing accessible training in the requirements of Ontario’s accessibility laws and the Ontario Human Rights Code as it applies to people with disabilities. Kritik is planning to continue in order to comply with the Customer Service Standard by providing annual AODA training and refreshers to all staff.

Information & Communications

Kritik is dedicated to continuously improving our websites, applications and features to create an accessible and inclusive learning environment for as many students as possible. Our products and services are designed based on the internationally recognized Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and Section 508 standards in the United States.

To ensure and validate our accessibility compliance, a third-party vendor conducts regular audits of the Kritik platform.

Kritik commits to conducting an internal audit and continuously improving our platform prior to the start of every school term.

Strategies and Actions

We are committed to continuously improving Kritik features and tools to create an equitable learning environment.  All product builds go through an accessibility test. Any accessibility issues found during the QA process are logged and resolved promptly. We also conduct a quarterly accessibility audit to ensure Kritik meets and exceeds WCAG 2.1 standards.
