In peer grading, rubrics are an essential element as they are used to provide feedback on a student’s creation/submitted assignment and act as a guide to what they need to address when grading their peers. When you do not have a live lecture to go over the process of peer grading and ask questions in real time, rubrics and grading instructions become much more important as they will be the main source of instruction given to students.

With her large asynchronous classes, she provides detailed guidelines on using rubrics so that students understand what they need to look for when assessing their peers’ work.
